- July 23th 2022: New date for the event
- Already purchased tickets are valid for the new date!

This is the day! 2022, Puskás Arena

As we are watching the pandemic worldwide, we had to make a decision that we postpone the stadium worship event planned for this July for next year. The new date is: July 23, 2022.

When we had to postpone last year this event, we hoped that by the summer of 2021 this pandemic will cease and life will be as usual as it was before. Unfortunately, this did not happen even though it looks that we are getting close to end it. Still the circumstances are not ready to hold such a large international event. A basic aspect at This is the day! events that we would like to invite all of our brothers and sisters who are open to praise God from Hungary and beyond the borders too. In this situation it is not guaranteed that everyone who would like to come can come to the event. We do not want anyone not being able to come because not getting vaccine or still the borders are closed. Other reason is that such a huge event requires a long preparation process in order to happen successfully which is just impossible because of the restrictions.

The tickets people bought will be valid next year as well to the same spot as originally.

We believe that it is God’s will to organize this event. We trust in Him that he prepares the best and we will call upon his Spirit with a deep devotion and enthusiasm. Please carry on this vision in your prayers and by God’s will we will see each other in 2022!

Jesus is the way, the truth and the LIFE (John 14:6)

The movement and series of events This is the day!  set out on its way 20 years ago with the vision that in the future, one day would gather together Christians from Hungary and Europe in the largest and most significant stadium in the region – The People’s Stadium – expressing their togetherness across denominational boundaries.  Our events have been attended by hundreds of thousands of people from the whole Carpathian Basin in recent years, and more than 30 nations have been represented on the stage.

We believe that it is the time for gathering, God wants to gather his people together from every age group, nation and denomination. We have the faith that the large scale worship event to be held on 23 July 2022 could be the greatest joint cry to heaven in the 21th century so far in the newly built Puskas Arena. We want to worship our Creator as one voice and to pray for our nation, as well as to bear witness to Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life.

Jesus-Bible Gift

We will give everyone who visits the stadium event a special gift. We will give out a truly unique Jesus Bible, which has been produced expressly for this occasion. The speciality of this Bible is that Jesus’ words are highlighted in red, and there is an expository commentary by Louie Giglio on the individual chapters. We believe it will be of great help to many in understanding how the books of the Old and New Testament are linked together in a single great story, while pointing uniformly to Jesus, the Son of God our Saviour. A further speciality of the publication is that, before each Biblical book, there is a QR code; each of these contains a link to an online worship song, the message of which is associated with that of the given book. The Bible will be handed out at the end of the event to every visitor.

The new stadium is the most beautiful building, and it was wonderful to see it filled with football fans. It was good to go in there and see what this venue looks like, and imagine the place filled with worshippers from all over Hungary and surrounding nations. The sound coming from the stadium will be incredible. It will be an inspiring day! Someone said earlier this year that this stadium is made for worship, so I will encourage everyone not to miss this very special day. When God’s people gather and when you have this incredibly large assembly of people worshipping, the sound of all these different voices is the most beautiful and inspiring sound. People who come that day will have a real sense of God’s presence because God loves to be with people who are praising him. A whole generation of people will be motivated and inspired to go out and serve God. There will be people there who have never been inside a church before, and so I’m praying they will be touched by the presence of God and their lives will be changed. It will be an event that touches people on so many different levels. It will be very inspiring, prophetic and a very special day.

It’s wonderful that you have persevered for so long with the vision. The realisation of this dream in the arena will be truly inspirational. As this arena was being built, this vision was built up in you, too, and in July we can all be there to praise the name of Jesus and to confess that He is Lord over the nations. I believe that God wants to gather people together so we can sing and praise Him together, and simply just have a good time in fellowship with one another. Where there is unity among the various nations, there we can truly see the glory of God. So I trust that we will see the presence of God in the stadium!

The Hungarian people must discover God, and then we can rejoice in God. One of my old songs is about this: “You have called us to a feast, Jesus, to contemplate your glorious face, to turn our hearts away from the transient, and gaze on the eternal.” This is the day! has the great role of demonstrating: yes, we can celebrate God. As we were there at the opening match of the Puskás Arena last autumn, a desire was conceived in me, that at least to the same extent, just as loudly, just as much from the heart, we must praise Him at the stadium. Loudly and full of conviction. For me, the greatest thing is: celebrating God, being at liberty in Him, being honest before him. And part of this honesty is that I can be there before God weeping, but dancing with outstretched arms too.

I expect that God, just as before, will bear great witness this time, too. This does not depend on the dimensions, of course, but even so this will be a story on a European scale. There are many things which are not physically visible; the Bible calls these sowing. We often make the mistake of sowing the seed, which falls on the soil, and we feel that nothing has happened. Of course it has! We sowed! Something will happen. The law of sowing and reaping is irrevocable, and This is the day! is already enjoying the harvest in many areas. It arouses the interest of many both for and against. I trust that, after the stadium event, the constant criticisers will fall silent. Even if they do not accept what we are doing as good, at least they will not oppose it.

What do I expect from this forthcoming big stadium event? Unity, love, friendship, the outpour and the fi re of the Holy Spirit, salvations, healings, deliverances—so I expect all that is usually involved where God’s kingdom appears. To me, this event is a powerful teaching from God about the way He works. First, He plants the seed, then He nurtures it, waters it, and then He expects acts of faith from us which express that we trust in Him. And then something we could never do by ourselves happens. We will be able to worship the Almighty God in the biggest stadium of the country.
